Maribel Serrano Holder, M.S., M.A., CCC-SLP

Founder & Speech-Language Pathologist

Maribel is a bilingual Spanish-English speech-language pathologist, educator, and advocate whose work centers on communication, connection, and belonging. As a Mexican immigrant and neurodivergent clinician, she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work with children, families, and communities.

She founded Logopedia to create the kind of practice she wished existed for many of the families she now serves: one where language, culture, disability, identity, and communication are understood as interconnected parts of the human experience. What began as her own clinical practice has grown into a team committed to providing thoughtful, intentional, individualized, relationship-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally responsive care.

Maribel's clinical interests include augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), autism, early childhood development, feeding, Gestalt Language Processing, and supporting children with complex communication needs. She is particularly passionate about helping children access communication that feels authentic and empowering, while supporting the development of self-understanding, self-determination and self-advocacy.

She holds degrees in Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, and Infant and Early Childhood Development and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Fielding Graduate University. Maribel is a certified Hanen® Instructor, DIRFloortime® Expert Training Leader, and faculty member with Comunidades Inclusivas, an interdisciplinary neuroaffirming collective supporting Spanish-speaking professionals and communities across the globe. A lifelong learner herself, she is also a three-time recipient of the ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE).

Jacqueline Rizzoli, M.S., CCC-SLP

Jacqueline brings a unique perspective to her work as both a speech-language pathologist and former special educator. Her background across education and speech-language pathology allows her to support communication, learning, emotional development, and participation through a whole-child lens.

She has worked with children and adolescents across a wide range of ages, abilities, communication styles, and learning profiles. Jacqueline is particularly passionate about supporting school-age children and collaborating closely with families to build practical strategies that extend beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.

As a neurodivergent clinician, Jacqueline is deeply committed to neurodiversity-affirming practice. She values caregiver partnership and believes that meaningful progress happens when families feel informed, empowered, and supported. She enjoys helping caregivers navigate educational systems, understand their child's unique profile, and advocate with confidence.

Her areas of interest include language development, literacy, fluency, articulation, social communication, and educational advocacy. Jacqueline also holds an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant certificate from Georgetown University, reflecting her commitment to understanding development through a relational and emotional lens.

Jacqueline currently supports Logopedia in a consultative capacity and as a member of the NeuroNauts Summer Program team. Her expertise in neurodiversity-affirming practice, literacy, educational advocacy, and child development continues to inform programming and support for children and families participating in our community-based offerings.

Originally from New York City, Jacqueline enjoys exploring San Francisco's neighborhoods, reading, road-tripping, tackling puzzles, and discovering new restaurants and cuisines with her husband.

Jonathan Alfredo Marquez, M.S., CCC-SLP

Jonathan's work is rooted in the belief that communication develops through relationships. He brings an upbeat, playful, and connection-focused approach to supporting children and families, meeting each child where they are and building upon their strengths, interests, and natural curiosity.

Raised in a bilingual Spanish-English household in Tijuana, Baja California, Jonathan developed an early appreciation for the ways language, culture, identity, and family shape communication. These experiences continue to inform his work with multilingual children and families.

Jonathan is particularly passionate about supporting young children, autistic and neurodivergent individuals, emerging communicators, and families navigating the early stages of communication development. He values collaboration with caregivers and believes that some of the most meaningful growth occurs through everyday interactions and shared experiences.

His professional background includes work in early childhood education and social-emotional development, perspectives that continue to influence his relationship-based approach to therapy.

Itzel Ortega, B.A.

Speech Language Pathology Assistant & Early childhood Interventionist

Itzel is a bilingual Spanish-English Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and Early Interventionist whose work is grounded in the belief that meaningful development happens through connection, play, relationships, and everyday experiences. She strives to create a warm, supportive environment where children feel safe to explore, communicate, participate, and build on their unique strengths and interests. Her approach is child-led, relationship-based, family-centered, and neurodiversity-affirming.

Raised in San Diego by parents from Mexico, Itzel experienced firsthand the important role that language, culture, and family play in shaping development, communication, and access to care. These experiences continue to guide her work with multilingual children and families and her commitment to providing culturally responsive support that honors each family's language, values, and lived experiences.

In her dual role at Logopedia, Itzel provides speech-language services as an SLPA and supports infants, toddlers, and their caregivers through early intervention. Her early intervention work focuses on development across communication, social-emotional, cognitive, adaptive, and motor domains within the context of play, relationships, routines, and family life.

Itzel earned her bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Long Beach and is currently pursuing her master's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at San Francisco State University. She enjoys collaborating with caregivers and interdisciplinary teams to support children across the environments and relationships that matter most in their everyday lives.
