The stark reality… 1/3 to 1/2 of those killed by police are people with different abilities. According to a 2017 study by Erin J. McCauley, people with cognitive deficits are 13% more likely to be arrested. This is frightening because this is the population we serve. It’s been 31 days since George Floyd was brutally murdered by police. It’s been 31 days since 6-year old Gianna had her father taken away from her through no fault of her own (nor his). It’s been 31 days of grief, anger, and protest. As a Latino/a/e owned business, we at Logopedia, Inc. stand firmly with our Black brothers and sisters to fight against the injustice, oppression, and marginalization of Black people. We will not tolerate any form of racist action or racist rhetoric. Our doors, arms, and hearts are open to BIPOC always. We will not be silent and we will not be silenced!
